Mary C. Oliver
Mary Oliver was born and raised in Montpelier, Ohio. She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1978 and Kent State University in 1982 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She served in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, Ky and the 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Casey, Korea.
Ms. Oliver started her career as a service officer in 1995 in Licking County (Newark, Ohio) and was promoted to Director of that office in 2000. She is an accredited service officer for the Ohio Department of Veteran Services, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the AMVETS, the Disabled American Veterans and the Vietnam Veterans of America. In December of 2010 she returned to her home county (Williams) to assume the position of Director/CVSO.
Her memberships in the veterans’ organizations include life member of VFW Post #2489 where she serves as a Trustee and Liaison for Boy Scout Troop 511 sponsored by the VFW Post, a PUFL member of American Legion Post #284, a life member of AMVETS Post #54, a life member of the Williams County DAV Chapter #83 and is a member of the Williams County Veterans Memorial Building. She is a Past 6th District Commander for the American Legion Department of Ohio, she serves as a Commissioner at Buckeye Boys State and is currently serving on two National Committees for the American Legion.

Jeremy S. Matthews
Jeremy Matthews GySgt, USMC (Ret) was born in Bryan, Ohio. He was raised in Edon, where he graduated in 1996. He joined the Marine Corps out of High School where he served 4 years active duty before returning to Ohio as part of a Reserve Program and attended the University of Toledo. 9-11 happened while Jeremy was at school. He eventually returned to active duty where he was a deployed in support of OEF in 2004, and returned to the Middle East in 2005/2006 for combat tours in Iraq (Fallujah / Al An Bar Province).
Gunnery Sergeant Matthews held various MOS’ in the Corps and was stationed at 6 different Marine Installations. Jeremy was medically discharged in 2011. He was interested in becoming a Veterans Service Officer, where he accepted a position in Williams County, Ohio. As a recently returned Combat and Disabled Veteran, Jeremy understands the modern day Veteran and their unique needs.
Jeremy is a member of VFW Post #2489, American Legion Post #109, Williams County DAV Chapter #83, Marine Corps League Defiance, and Life member of IAVA (Iraq Afghanistan Veterans of America).

Skyler Engel was born in Bryan, Ohio. He was raised in Pioneer, where he graduated in 2008. He joined the United States Army in 2007 and went to basic training between his junior and senior year of high school. Once he graduated in 2008 he went off to advance individual training (AIT) where he became an infantryman. After infantry school Skyler was stationed at Ft Carson, Colorado for about a month and was then deployed.
Skyler was deployed in support for Operation Iraqui Freedom to Sadr City, Iraq where he served for a year as a Specialist (E4). In 2011 Skyler was medically discharged from the Army. Skyler returned to his hometown in Pioneer, Ohio where he resides currently. Skyler started his Bachelor's degree at Trine University, majoring in Criminal Justice, utilizing the Post 9-11 GI Bill. In 2013 Skyler volunteered to assist the Williams County Veterans office, for their move, and the WW2 Restore Honor project. Skyler has been working for the Veterans Office since the move to the new facility as an Administrative Assistant.
